Five trends affecting business today
We are constantly being told how fast business is going. We're told that products that are today's cash cows will be redundant within 7 months. We're told that consumers are demanding more from our businesses. We're told they're out there, talking to eachother about us and we ought to be listening.
All true, of course, but what do we focus on?
I don't think there are right or wrong answers to this. Each business is different, choosing to reach its chosen customers in the way it is most comfortable with. As evidence has shown not having a website or an eMail address or an 0800 freephone sales number has not brought about death. Businesses can survive without any of these. But there is a difference between long-term survival and growth.
Within this paper I present 5 of the trends that I think are going to affect the way we do business. I do not believe these are the only trends, or the killers that will destroy any organisation that does not pay heed. What I do think is they are factors that will significantly influence the way our organisations evolve.
As always I welcome your thoughts.
