The mobile phone as the digital camera of choice
The mobile phone is replacing the "point and click" as the digital camera of choice. They're always with you, they're convenient and they're actually pretty good. There are a few problems - the zoom is usually digital, which gives fairly poor performance. Low light shots can also be a bit noisy. Flash is pretty useless.
Undoubtably the technology will get better and in the meantime we'll get used to seeing "happy snaps" taken on phones. After all, photographs are usually taken to capture a memory and the immediacy of an iPhone shot far outweighs any artistic endeavours we might aim for.
